We have stayed at Nikonos II numerous times with three generations of our family on some occasions and with our friends at other times. Never has it failed to delight us all. The house is a little piece of Japanese culture in itself, thoughtfully renovated and simply but beautifully decorated. As well as its charm, it’s ideally equipped in every way and boasts what is possibly the best location for skiers in Nozawa Onsen. A short stroll to the gondolas/lifts, the ski hire shops, restaurants, village centre and onsens, it cannot be beaten for easy access. We are devotees of Nikonos II and return annually. There is no better place to kick start our year.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks at NIKONOS II during our ski holiday last December and absolutely loved it! The place is beautifully renovated, clean, and very well-maintained. The bed linen was fresh and spotless, and the open-concept kitchen with a long dining table made it perfect for family meals — we cooked almost every day. The apartment is spacious, two storeys, which gave everyone in the family plenty of room to relax. Best of all, the location is fantastic. Highly recommend this place for families or groups looking for a comfortable, stylish, and practical stay near the ski area.
